  Of Late Many Here Seem To Be Preaching Aethiesm..

  when i first came here a while back there was plenty of discussion around and about jw topics and general chit chat but of late i've felt quite a sharp increase in posts that are: .

  1/ preaching aethism (as opposed to putting it forward in a respectful way as an alternate viewpoint.

  2/ vitriolic attacks on those who dare have another view ('damn those stupid heretical believers') .

  i have met a lot of jwd members, most of whom i got to know better in chat (those were the days!

  Where did God go??

  it has been over 10 months now since i stopped going to the kingdom hall.

  i had imagined how i would really find my way to god now that i was no longer being misled by the wts ( for - profit) publishing company.

  i kept reading the bible, because people on jwd had told me how i would see it in a different light.

  yesterday, talking to a dear wise friend, she said about jehovahs witnesses, "they don't own god.

  " that simple statement said so much to me.

  she said that so many religions have taken god and act like they and only they own him.

  one wonders just what God would think, looking down and seeing a small group of people leading, counselling, punishing, setting rules, boundaries, etc..In other words usurping HIS headship and authority.

  Was it Stephen King or someone else that asked something like the above question in their writings and responded with, "Jesus is coming back, and is he ever pissed."

  Fairchild, I was raised a JW but was never baptized. I left when I was 18 and it has been over 20 years that I have been away from it. During that time I went through cycles of disbelief, being p.o.'d at God, apathy, you name it.

  I think its like what people always tell you about romance, when you try to force it, that doesn't work, and when you least expect it romance blooms. I think being spiritual can be the same way, when you try and force it, or think it has to be a certain way, the more you try the farther you get away from it. I think maybe just trying to be and let your spirituality come naturally is a much better way to go.
